I am ashamed to admit this: I did not see my first Star Wars movie until well after the first three movies were released. (And I was old enough to do so!) I did not see the destruction of the Death Star on the big screen or Han Solo wooing Leia. But I eventually caught up and am now a convert nonetheless! I will not miss another Star Wars movie on the big screen even if I have go by myself. Being a fan of Lego's as well, I can't think of a better marriage than Lego Star Wars kits??? If I were a kid, these are the ones I'd want. Then again, I'm old enough to buy whatever I want now! 1. LEGO Star Wars Death Star Well you know and I know that this one had to be first right? The Lego Death Star has a superlaser control room, Imperial conference chamber, hangar bay, 23 mini-figures including Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca. It also has 3 Lightsabers, 4 blasters, 3 blaster pistols, and much, much more. I'm starting to think I should buy this one for myself!
Every once in a millennium I come up with a gift idea that is so good I know I can’t go wrong. This is a gift idea that isn't too hard on my budget and that the recipient will truly appreciate. Well that’s exactly how I feel about the gift of Amazon Prime. This is a gift that is going to be used and appreciated over and over again.
Not sure about that? Let me state my case… 1. You Can Give a 3 Month Prime Membership For just $33 you can give someone 3 Months of Amazon Prime Membership. I can guess what 3 months I would need it most! (Hint: Holiday Season?). That means, amongst other things, the recipient gets Unlimited FREE two-day shipping on over 50 million items for those 3 months. Your gift isn’t some tchotchke that will sit on the shelf and wind up in the next garage sale. The BEST part? If the recipient already has an Amazon Prime Membership, they can exchange it for an Amazon gift card. Ah yes, perfection. 2. You Can Give a 12 Month Prime Membership Same as above except that you pay $99 and your recipient gets 12 Months of Amazon Prime benefits.
These classic animated Christmas movies might actually be the best part of the holiday. Presented here in no particular order are our top ten favorites. If you have children, be sure to introduce them to your favorites!
1. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Perhaps the most popular animated Christmas movie of all, who doesn't love Rudolph? And we love it in spite of its sexism and tolerance for bullying - two concepts that certainly would get it banned were it to be introduced today. Follow it up with Rudolph's Shiny New Year and you'll be perfectly primed for the holiday season. 2. The Year Without a Santa Claus For years, (before the internet), we asked people, what was that movie with the Don King looking Heat Miser guy and no one knew what we were talking about. Finally the internet came along and voila! 3. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas Long before Jim Carrey tried the role, this animated version of the classic Dr. Seuss tale stole our hearts. And speaking of hearts, if the Grinch's heart could grow 3 sizes maybe there's still hope for our politicians in D.C. |
